Calculating holiday pay for irregular paid employees
Permalink Closed

Hi all,

The person who did the payroll before me has been less than helpful regarding how he calculated the employees holiday pay. The employees work irregular hours each week. I have been on the direct gov website and used their calculator to determine the holdiday pay to be paid. (They are paid their holdiay pay each month)

The last pay slip of an employee had 15 hours @ £6.50 and Holiday Pay of £10.24

I can't see how they arrived at that figure because if I use the Direct Gov calculator and use the irregular hours I get 1.48 hours which doesn't work out to be £10.24

Have I done something wrong?

Best wishes

Georgie

If that is supposed to be the holiday pay for 15 hours worked @6.50 then it looks wrong to me. My quick calculation gives £11.80 holiday pay, not £10.24.

OK, as I thought then.... and he has been under paying them all!

Sorry to be picky, but I made it £11.70 ?

Best wishes

You can get slightly different results according to exact calculation method.
