If a Limited company has 2 salaried directors and their tax etc goes through the payroll do they also need to register for Self Assessment and complete a tax return? I assumed all the tax and NI would be accounted for that way. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Thanks

Sam

Yes, as directors they need to complete a SA return

There are also certain circumstances in which you will always need to complete a tax return - for example if you're:

self-employed
a company director
a trustee
receiving foreign income
