Is it to find other like minded Bookkeepers to join forces with under a new Company. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone with at least 10 years experience in Bookkeeping both desktop and cloud plus Payroll experience living in the West Sussex area.

Thanks in advance.

In order to find like minded people you first have to give some idea of your own mind.

Not something that rocks my boat but you maybe need to give a bit more detail as to why people would be interested in your new venture.

What sort of reporting structure would you be looking at?

Why would people with the experience be looking to work with your business?

Do you have a strict ethical code?

What is the minimum qualification requirements?

It could end up a long list but you get the general gist.

Good luck finding the people with the right fit,

kind regards,

Shaun.

Cheers Shaun....this is a serious question and I take on board all of your suggestions. I would like to see the calibre of answers as we are in the market for this new biz, and will chat to each respondent.

I'd also like to hear if you are wanting to work one to one with someone, sharing the workload, or if you are setting up a business that takes on loads of bookkeepers and pimps them out :)

Hi Guys,
Basically we run a successful Bookkeeping and Payroll Business and have done so for the past 15 years. We have a good and very valuable book of clients, and work with several Accountants both small and top 10.

We have now decided that instead of attracting someone into our business and diluting our retirement package, we are creating a similar vehicle and placing new clients into this newco. We trade on our name as we are well known in our area and in London. The infrastructure is fully set up and we already have one client in situ. Instead of staff, we are looking for partners or directors to share in this - it is not a franchise. It's not a fly by night business - more of a very long term relationship. We are not looking to form an Accountancy Practice as we don't want the hassle - just a simple cooperative where the remuneration is commensurate with inputs.

It could lead to an interesting conversation but beware, we want people or a person within our area, with same level of expertise of 10 plus years experience. Being ACIBS qualified I've worked hard in our business and want to create another model.

This is most probably out of the box thinking but we can do this. Many will say, why don't you take staff on and I would reply by saying.....been there, done that and got p@ssed on, so we don't want to down that road again.

Food for thought?

Sorry, I'm going to sound stupid here I know and will probably kick myself when you answer but which body is ACIBS?

On the whole general idea it's sound.

I'm assuming that the way that you see it working is that you find the clients, farm out to affiliated bookkeepers that you know will do a good job and divide up the procedes in a manner that both parties are happy with.

Seems to be a more official sort of arrangement that many here have with accountancy practices.

Also I've worked in a similar way with a couple of the industry big guns where to clients you are the company that you work with but in reality you are totally independant of them.

Good luck with getting the venture off the ground. Sure that you will find some suitable people form here but you may need to stick around for a while as this is one of thoise sites where people come then wander off for a couple of months then wander back again so you may not get your message accross immediately to the best fits but stick around and you will.

Looking forwards to chatting,

Kind regards,

Shaun.

lol. very clever Michelle.

There are quite a few accountancy and bookkeeping bodies out there beyond the main dozen or so... And absolutely nothing to stop anyone setting up their own... Well, except for a severe shortage of unused acronyms!

I reccon this is going to end up as one that I realy should know but it just doesn't sound right... Like CIOT members being CTAs.
