No option on EPS for overpayment of PAYE
Permalink Closed

Hi one of our payroll clients have received a notice saying they overpaid tax last year. I have rang HMRC and they said it is ok to take this off their first quarter of PAYE. However there is no option on the EPS to let HMRC know we are reducing the payment.

That's correct. HMRC already knows about the overpayment so there is no need to notify them of it again.

In other words, file the return as normal with the quarterly amount, but just physically pay them less the overpayment.
