Individual Employee Reporting
Permalink Closed

Hi everyone

In my role I'm looking to report on individuals performance (its a sales company) and therefore am looking for the best way to set up sage so as to be able to track an individuals performance.

So for example sales invoices are likely to relate to a single individual (30 or so in the business). And wages will obviousley relate to each invidual.

Ultmately I would like to get the results and see a profit figure for each invidual.

Im wondering what the best approach is? I've included what I think is best below:

When posting wages post gross wages seperate for each invidual with each invidiual having their own expense code. Invidual sales codes for each invidual. Then to pull the data from sage onto excel and match the two up and apply an overhead figure? Does anyone have any practical experience of doing this?

Many thanks

Jasp

Have you tried looking into sage projects? this would do it in a round about way. alternatively there are other ways to to record salesman info within the invoices and be able to report on it but its not easy and time consuming to set it all up.

Sage is very good at integrating with excel and pretty much any report created within the editor is exportable to excel either directly or via the integration addin.

I have set up Sage projects for a couple of businesses and found a few ways to report sales info. I have also managed to edit and create reports to export to excel and with a little tinkering and macro writing, you can get some quite useful salesman info relating to sales invoices and with some extra work i'm sure it can be tied to salaries.

Departments may work and you could run a departmental profit and loss for each salesman. This way any sales invoices could be allocated to the department for the salesman and the salaries can be too.

Thanks for the reply.
I hadn't looked or heard of sage projects.
Thats good to hear regarding the excel-sage link. Given that I think I'll be using sage.
From my perspective I don't think that there are huge q of sales per sales person therefore from what is said above departmental reporting would be best.

you could also use departments.. set up a department for each employee and then code their sales and wages accordingly :)
