PAYE Registration

Hi there,

A friend of mine has got them selves in a pickle and was wondering if someone would be able to shed some light on the likely outcome?

They set up a ltd company in April 2012 and the started paying themselves in October 2012, unfortunately they didn't register with HMRC as employers and still have not done anything to date. (they were working out TAX and NI from an online salary calculator!!) Not 100% sure on there thinking on this one but this is the situation they find themselves in.

I am guessing they will have to call the HMRC and explain what has happened but just wondering if anyone knows what sort of fine etc they will be looking at and what usually happens if anyone else has been in this situation.

They have done the same thing with the corporation tax registration!! Which hopefully wont be as messy but that another post!

Thanks in Advance

Do they have staff or is it just Directors? I don't know what type of fines they will get I suppose it will also depend on how many staff they have. If they have other staff as well what about all the PAYE that should be paid each month.
