SAGE 50 Compatability issues with Windows 8 ??
Permalink Closed

I have just bought a brand new lap top with windows 8 and installed my Sage Stage 2 CD it installed and ran perfectly. Until I came to entering data and hit the apply button. If I hit the apply button in any field the programme simply disappears off screen. If I try to log on it says that it failed to shut down properly and I need to delete the previous user and start again each time losing the changes I have made.    Any one else come across this problem ? Any help greatly appreciated regards Kev

Sage is a little temperamental with windows 8 at the moment. The latest 2013 version of sage works fine, but older versions are a little shakey or not compatible all together.

Any training material may also be a little off with windows 8.

I would suggest you grab an old copy of XP or Win 7 so your laptop is able to dual boot and install your stage 2 on the the alternative operating system to be safe.

Hi Thank you for your response, Sage confirmed that there are compatibility issues with older versions of Sage and Windows 8 , I have ended up upgrading to a 2013 version and paying the difference.

Thanks again

Kev
