Following my recent post about trying to find a UK friendly user guide / book for the QB software, I thought I'd post this link to one from good old Amazon. This one appears to cover what it needs to cover for people like me who are completely new and like to have a book to follow. Not sure if it's any good, I will post some feedback when I've had the chance to go through it.
I`ve bought Quickbooks Pro 2013 Software from Amazon and "Quickboks 2013 for Dummies" book.
I am still at the beginning of the book so I can`t make any comments yet.
Many people around here are using QB so I think what the book does not show, maybe someone will want to give some advice.
There is also a Quickbooks Online Community where you can ask but I am not sure how fast you ll get the answer.
I am in the same situation as you are.
Have a good day!
Adrian

Hi Adrian, ahhh right...I looked at that on amazon, they also had a ""UK Edition""....I put that term very loosely due to the fact that a peek look at the contents, it's still in American terms! Work that one out if you will :D!
I was going to just use sage instant to get me through the Level II computerised but really would rather going straight for QB as it seems to do everything I need it to do including Payroll for a reasonable price unlike Sage who seem to have a massive hold over these learning centres to use their software alone!
Anyway, you're definitely right, there are so many people that seem to use QB so there wouldn't appear to be much shortage in the way of very good advice!
Beautiful weekend....so sunny and a lovely time at the Air Festival today doing my motherly duties :D!
I've looked at a couple of the books even American version ones which do seem to pretty much cover what's needed anyway. I've left one book to one side to purchase in case I do decide to go the QB route, so will compare notes with you once I actually get around to looking and exploring it. Seems pretty straight forward so far from what I have looked at.
I've found everything I need in QB for dummies so far, I think it's pretty well written. And if you are a proadvisor, there is a phone number you can call to talk to someone. I tried it out and got the answer I needed on one occasion and had to call a few times for another.
Hi Princess, yes, it would appear that is the most favourable book around having read up on it, although a lot of the bad reviews were aimed at it being American text which I took as a case of them just not realising and just buying it thinking it would all be UK favoured.
I decided to buy this and am sticking with QB as my software both to get me through my exam and for future clients....luckily I have one to practice on :D!!
