That would be cruel. That's how I ended up with this big massive lump of a photocopier - I saw more and more people were "watching" it so I jumped in and bought it.

I'm linking your avatar. I'm sure I had something similar. It might have been a man poking at the small "X" you yet at the top right hand corner of a program. Eventually the "X" came away and hit him on the head.

EDIT - part of my post went missing.

I didn't realise that buyers could see the amount of viewers (how long has that been there?!?)

I meant it as a joke on him/her to think the item is worth the 7.99 thinking their luck is in..biggrin

They see there are 20 people watching it and then expecting a lot of sniping as the auction ends only for nobody to bid.

Knowing me, I'd end up bidding on it - scared that everyone else knew something I didn't and I didn't want to miss out.

EDIT : Incidentally, that wasn't me quoting twice to increase my post count - it was just easier for me than to try and edit it to separate the two parts.

Just saw this on Ebay. Does this person expect someone to pay £7.99 for three tatty ringbinders. You can get three brand new ones from Asda for 50p each. If you can't get to Asda they'll deliver for about £2.50 if I remember correctly (though there may be a minimum spend - but if you're unable to visit a supermarket then you'll likely be paying to have your shopping delivered anyway).

Good luck to the person selling them - I'll find out shortly if they managed it.

If something costs that much to post then it's unlikely to sell. Maybe try a car boot sale and you might get 10p for them.

I could understand a higher value item being up for sale and then put the price of the postage up so you're paying less in fees. When I bid I'm looking at the price plus postage. I know the postage on some of the things I buy isn't £25 but I'm not complaining because the price of them item is less.

This one just took the biscuit.

Rant over (for the next ten minutes).

I'm not surprised to report that no one bid on the item.

Ahh missed the auction. Could have done with some binders for college! Wonder if he'll let them go for a fiver if I message him? :D

Did you use less than or greater than characters as I've found that they work as paragraph delimiters with the site editor.

Not particularly good choice of delimiters on an accounting and bookkeeping site, lol.

If I did it was a typo.

I don't know how long it's been there. In fact, that was the only time I've noticed it. Maybe I only saw the amount of watchers when I added it to "watch" myself. And then noticed the number of "watchers" increasing the next time I viewed it.

Yes but I posted that before I knew that anyone could see the watchers count. I thought it was just on the sellers dashboard see wink

Compare those tatty ones with these ones (ending shortly).

This is more realistic and if I didn't have five million ringbinders already I may have considered buying them.

At least my habbits just index cards... Much easier to fill boxes up full of those unnoticed than having a ring binder habbit... Although, got a fair few of those as well... And don't even get me started on desk calculators!... And apparently looking accross my desk one can never have enough hole punches... Ok, its a fair cop, I'm a horder as well.
