First bad debt

Always look on the bright side, eh?

Today I conceded my very first bad debt. For just under £15.

When I tot it up, I must have been self-employed for upwards of 16 years, 4 of these as a bookkeeper.

I think I've been pretty fortunate smile

£15 pretty good really, at least it was £15,000!!!

I would say you have been very fortunate.

You've either been really lucky, or you are managing your credit control really well.

I have one for £170 thats now doubtful.

I'm sure it's luck as much as anything. And having picked agreeable clients (mainly) ...

Once I reckoned that you should pick an accountant like a favourite car mechanic. When you've found them, stick with them.
Now as a bookkeeper, I turn it on its head: once you've found a client you really get on with, do everything to keep them.
