I've done a foundation degree in Business in the past. It seems I covered much of the stuff in levels 3 and 4 of the AAT qualification. I'm wondering if it is possible to sit the exams for levels 3 and 4 without a learning provider?

you need to be with a training provider in order for them to mark some of the units but you can self study and take the exams of others without a training provider. (Pretty sure at level III its the spreadsheets unit).
That works well for some but very badly for others. If you are confident that you have already done this material then by all means give level 3 a bash and then make a call as to how you approach level 4.
Give Nick at Premier or Sonya at Eagle a call as they would be able to better fill you in on registering with them in order for you to get the relevant papers marked and give you some more help and advice on how to move forwards.
Good luck with your studies,
kind regards,
Shaun.

Responses are not meant as a substitute for professional advice. Answers are intended as outline only the advice of a qualified professional with access to all relevant information should be sought before acting on any response given.
If you enrol on the new standards you need a training provider for Professional Ethics and spreadsheets at level 3 now. You also need one for the level 4 ICAS project, but other than that you can do the rest on your own.
Any problems or queries just let me know.
All the best
Nick
