When you ran the previous quarter's return, you hopefully will have reconciled those transactions. So now when you run the September return, it will give you the option to include anything that has posted with a previous return date, but not reconciled. Assuming you are not on cash accounting, the return will pick up the purchase invoices which have since been added.

You would need to fill out this form, stating that your turnover has fallen below the dereg limit. You would then prepare the final return, once they had agreed the date of dereg.
The hardest part is calculating any VAT on assets and stock held by the business at the time of deregistration. This link should help with that.
I just have a quick question. I have few suppliers invoices for a previous quarter (April - June). Can they be included in this Vat return (July - September)?
Thank you for your answer. Yes it does. So I can include them?
Also would you be so kind and help me with something else. My client is a small building company with a turnover less then £20000 per year. However it is VAT registered due to one year project which was done 3 years ago. The owner wants me to unregister him from VAT. What is the process of doing it? Will he need to submit any document or accounts to HMRC?
