FOR SALE UBS Accounting Software 9.2 (SR3) - £190
Permalink Closed

Hi Henry,

Hope that the recent severe weather in your part of the world passed you by unscathed.

I'm affraid that this is a UK site so software for your area of the world is unlikely to be of much use to the site members here.

I think that UBS is the version of Sage peculiar to Malaysia only isnt't it? plus isn't the version that you have for sale six versions old? Also is the licence actually transferable cross border?

Sorry, but I would not expect this to sell.

You could try something like Ebay with an extended description of what it is that you are selling and confirm validity of ability to transfer title.

kind regards,

Shaun.

p.s. amended only for my bad typing.

Sorry Henry,

I know the attitude to software piracy and licencing in SE Asia (I lived and worked in Thailand for quite some time) so fully appreciate that you may not be seeing anything wrong with selling cracked software but it's an absolute no no that can end up with firms being fined many thousands of pounds... We even get in trouble if we have completely legimate versions meant for home use that we use in business.

As Kris says. Such software absolutely cannot be sold... I would also say that it cannot be used but as I say, I know the reality in that part of the world where even legitimate stores sell pirated software.

It's not that it physically can't be used. It's that it wouldn't be legal.

And it gets worse Henry.

You cannot use sites such as this to sell illegal software.

The thread will be allowed to play out as a warning to others but the original offer for sale must be removed (I will be doing that) and any follow up atempts to sell similar software will unfortunately mean that we would have to remove you as a site member as the site cannot associate itself with illegal activities.

As mentioned above, I do appreciate that you probably cannot see anything wrong with the sale as such sales are endemic within the culture within SE Asia. However, cracked code breaks copyright and as well as not being legal for you to sell the software it would also be illegal for anyone to purchase such software.

Shaun.

Bargain Rob... And a collectors item to boot.

lets have a look what I can add to the sale... Taxcalc 1999, xtree gold (Dos edition), Selection of once used Norton and McAfee discs. Windows 3.1 upgrade discs... Also a selection of AOL discs (make excellent coffee mug coasters)... Why do I keep all this stuff! I'm like Peasie's alter ego.

Actually, strange as this might sound up until last year I actually had Excel 4 still installed on a machine (It was to support a client that you would think was too big to still have a machine with that version on it).

So your not selling your empty box of Milk Tray? I could have added 20 1987 Payroll course manuals with it, we could have made a mint, probably the middle of a polo mint but what a missed opportunity!
