If anyone in the Reading (Berkshire) area requires some help/would be kind enough to let me spend a week with them on a voluntary basis, mainly for me to gain some more bookkeeping/tax experience. please drop me a message..
I am currently studying ACCA but may potentially drop this and go down the bookkeepers route..
If past the first nine and you really can't work within regulation 8 take a serious look at IFA (institute of financial accountants, not independant financial advisor) as you may be able to get DipFA status and a practice certificate to go well beyond ACCA restruictions on you.
The IFA meetings are joint IFA / IAB so best of both worlds.
Always sad to see people dropping by the wayside from the ACCA qualification but the restrictions make it inevitable.
The IFA is an IFAC recognised body and they seem to be making real progress by picking up a lot of ex ACCA people who are unable to get the practical experience requirements in the correct environment (basically Chartered / chartered Certified firms that are approved for Practice Development).
I can't help you on the work front I'm afraid but wishing you the very best of luck in your endeavours.
kindest regards,
Shaun.
