Is everyone else getting edgy clients phone them about self assessments after HMRC's latest letter campaign?
All I feel like I've been doing for days is fielding calls and reassuring people that their SA has been submitted. The letters are pretty intimidating too.
I had three calls on Tuesday from clients wondering if they had been submitted. The letter was just dated December 2013 but obviously posted in January. I got no end of tax returns submitted in that time so I am expecting more calls to waste my time when I could be looking at old Monty Python sketches!
One of my clients received a letter stating that his self assessment hadn't been submitted, when they had already refunded him for tax that he had overpaid. Definate case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing!!
