This is a high profile position and a key role reporting directly to the Finance Director whilst also working closely with the MD and other international FCs across the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for the consolidation of Group results, forecasts and budgets, maintaining relationships with the Group's audit and tax professionals, legal partners, banking partners and key stakeholders. The Financial Controller will also lead the finance team of five, encompassing two Business Accountants, AP and AR.
Fulfilment of the role will include significant exposure across the wider business, liaising with colleagues at both operational and directorate level, excellent commercial and communication ability is therefore a key requirement. The role will deal with financial information from several areas of the group across the UK. Continuing to uphold the existing strong relationships with pivotal business contacts will be important in order to maintain an efficient process and control framework, any experience of working under USGAAP or SOX requirements would be beneficial.
The successful candidate will be the finance representative for the central Group function and will be expected to deputise for the Finance Director in their absence. Such a role will provide the progression opportunity you would expect from a far-reaching finance position; the successful individual will be able to continue down various career paths within this growing and successful organisation.
Who we're looking for
The successful candidate will ideally be ACA qualified (or equivalent) from a recognised accountancy practice making at least their second industry move. Whilst an excellent technical ability is a pre-requisite, the chosen individual will be able to demonstrate a natural initiative and pragmatic approach to the role, displaying excellent commercial awareness and ability to converse across all vertical levels of the group, leading the finance team.
The individual selected will have strength of character, a strong eye for detail and ability to investigate and challenge the results to be consolidated.
ACA qualified (or equivalent)
Demonstrable high level of initiative and inquisition
Excellent interpersonal ability including heightened commercial awareness
Strong technical ability with regard to process and control
International accounting / foreign currency experience will be beneficial
