One of my clients lets out a property to a shop. I have the amount of rent they receive each month but last year I included the mortgage interest as an expense.

This year I have been given a bank statement from HSBC and the account is called 'Commercial Invest Prop Loan details' it has loan repayments coming in and a monthly debit interest, to me this just looks like a loan account but the client seems to think it's her mortgage account. I don't remember being given this statement last year.

Can anyone give me an idea if this sounds right?

Thanks

Rachel

Yes that will be the mortgage and is usual on a commercial mortgage to show it like this.
