Can I process a P45 a day early - or could I get into trouble?
Permalink Closed

Hi

I usually do the payroll for a company on a Friday. There is an employee leaving tomorrow (saturday) and will want her P45 to say tomorrow's date. She will want her wages and holiday pay owed.

Can anybody get into trouble (me OR the employee) if I put everything on her payslip today? and the date on the P45 will be a day earlier than she actually left?

Thanks in advance for your help

Process the payroll with tomorrow's date -what software are you using?
I use Sage and the process date is the actual date paid, as long as all the payments are correct then the P45 can be raised with today's date on no problem
