What happens?

Hi I haven't actually submitted a clients SA tax return using am agent code before, I have these already set up, but once the return is ready to be filed online using my agent code what happens, does the client get a messaging when he logs onto the gateway? Do I just submit and the client then logs on to the gateway and to pay his tax liability, how does it work in practice. Sorry for these little practical questions :) Thanks, Stu

Hi Stuart,

Sounds like you've got your own address in there for acceptance emails.

If you're using tax return software then you might be able to divert the HMRC response to the client and rely on the programs ability to record successful submissions. If you're using the Revenue online Return, then from memory it would depend on what email address you enter at the end.

The client can pay without logging in to their own dashboard at : www.santanderbillpayment.co.uk/hmrc/scripts/index.asp

This doesn't have to be immediately you have submitted a return, but on the 31 Jan or 31 July due dates and in between if they're late.

HTH
