Wondering if anyone could shed some light on this.
I have submitted two requests online for agent authorisation on behalf of a client for PAYE, however on both occasions the client has not received these. I have put them down as lost codes.
Since I have already done this for Self Assessment for the client and he has received this without incident, I am a bit confused as to why he would not be receiving the code for PAYE?
In order to resolve this quickly, I am in the process of filling in a paper 64-8, however I am unsure of whats required for the Agents details under the heading Agent Codes (SA/CT/PAYE)
I have had exactly the same issue!!! 3 times i tried, finally on the forth attempt and a warning from HMRC that the code was about the expire bamn he gives me a code! I was about to go down the route of paper filing!
In January I had one where it was so close to the wire so I ended up doing the 64-8 and the online request. (and had Andica open on a tab to buy just in case neither of them appeared in time).
The 64-8 came through first but the online request still came through before the deadline. As the 64-8 won I just ignored the online request and let it expire.
