Sorry I haven't posted for a while! Been a busy, busy bunny! Since I last popped in late December I've completed 70 tax returns, fired my apprentice and been issued with an eviction notice by my office landlord due to structural issues with the building. This may turn out to be OK as he is possibly going to buy a building 200 yards up the road to rehome my company and the hairdressers next door.
I've had weekends in Paris and Dublin, and closer to home weekends in York and Dorset and two weeks in the Lake District.
I've also got my Fellowship of the IAB, which is nice as I'm no longer with the ICB.
What have you missed... Couple of barneys at the start of the year which was a storm in a teacup.
Few jokes.
Few new site members... I've noticed that we seem to be getting a lot more accountants joining now than bookkeepers as the question that keeps coming up is how to practice under ACCA regulation 8.
Lots and lots of Sage questions which traditionally I don't answer and it seems of late everyone else seems to have got fed up of answering them as well.
I was admitted to full membership of the ACCA in March (after a short period after passing my final exams as an affiliate).
Big shock of the year to date was that HLC dropped ICB and now offer IAB instead.
Premier are starting the ATT qualification which may come in quite handy for CPD.
ICB changed their syllabus but it seems more of a rebranding excercise than anything major (Level I becomes Level II, Level II becomes III, etc.).
Off the top of my head thats about all that I can remember but sure that there must be more.
Anyway, glad to see you back amongst us Liz,
talk soon,
Shaun.
p.s. my sympathies about losing your premises. I lost mine last year, like yourself through no fault of my own. Lost loads in marketing material that became useless and lost loads disconnecting a telephone line that I'd recently signed a two year deal for! I certainly won't do that again! One year deals may seem more expensive but if things go wrong they're far cheaper... We live and learn.
