HMRC self Assessment repayment issue
Permalink Closed

Hi,  I've been doing Self Assessments for about the last 4 or 5 years now without any issues.

I've recently done a CIS one for a guy in London.  When I have gone to request the repayment it looks like everything is fine but then days later it is still showing as repayment available.  it doesn't update to say it is being processed.  I have had to request the repayment twice now.

Has anyone ever experienced this?  It's never happened to me before.  I am not the clients authorized agent so I cannot call to find out what the issue is as they will not discuss anything with me.

Hi Elaine,

I don't think there's much choice here. If you're offering him a full agent service then you're best off being authorised via your Agent account. If not, then get him the contact details for him to chase up his refund.

Kind regards,
Tim
