apart from the time and place I think that you just did.
Go on, I'll let you.
Good luck with getting it off the ground Adrian. I think that setting up networking groups is almost as cutthroat as the training industry.
Have you got a snazzy name for it yet? How are you going to attract accountants?... The offer of free cakes tends to work, just make sure that they can't nick all of the donuts and then disappear... As I did the other day from a local expo meeting. They got me there with the offer of five free coffee's throughout the day.
I was supposed to sit through hours of marketing / SEO lectures but instead I figured that these sort of bashes appeal to start up businesses so I wasn't going to waste my time with people trying to sell me stuff. I just hung around the canteen area drinking my free coffee's and picking off those who strayed from the safety of the heard in the lecture theatres.
BBC could make a series with a David Attenborough voiceover of accountants picking off potential clients from the pack as after a while I wasn't the only practice doing that.
Anyway, went off at an angle there. That meeting appealed because there were clients (and free coffee) to had there.
What is it that's the selling point for your group that would make accountants go to it?

I really appreciate your help.
This group is based on what people want from it and I am ready to add or even replace the initial ideas if members will vote for it.
At the very start I thought this would be useful:
1. To connect the Accountants, Bookkeepers, Tax advisers, Wealth Managers with the businesses or individuals who needs them
I would like to create a network where Mr. X who is a biz or individual just pops in and see what goodies he might get from this knowledgeable people.
e.g. accounting and bookkeeping services, tax advice, how to make his money work harder and so on.
2. To connect finance students to companies
The junior might be interested in a new role, the senior may require high calibre candidates to help growing their business.
Sending CVs ?
Yes, if you have the time and patience, A Cv does not reflect who you are and sometimes after thousands applications still the result is not showing or you end up in a company where you dont want to be.
I am sure there are hidden gems out there, brilliant people who just did not get that chance.
3. The finance world is changing fast, networking may offer you updated information and the right people to do business with.
It seems that people work better with people they already know.
Accountants needs bookkeepers and the other way around.
Accountants may have wealthy clients to recommend to a wealth manager or a tax adviser.
We are better connected.
I do not know about the free coffee, but I will see what I can do :)
I confirm that this meetup does not replace the meetings of any accountancy, bookkeeping or other professional finance body.
I confirm that this is not a substitute for the monthly ICB London Meeting where I attend every month and where I find the information and advice very useful.
This is just a personal meetup that is build up by me and the members who want to join and share their ideas and interests.
Thank you Shaun,
Thank you all for having the patience to read my post,
Welcome to join this meetup.
Have a lovely evening !
Adrian
