So, you care about your clients exactly the same as every other Accountancy and bookkeeping service provider on this site.
Try again. Why exactly are you better than anyone else on this site? Why would anyone use your services over (say) mine?
Are you more qualified? more experienced? How are you more progressive than say the winners of the most innovative firm award on this site? (thats not me by the way, I'm more a quill and ink type accountant).
How could you say that you are better than the competition if you do not know who your competition is?
All that you can say is that you offer those services exactly the same as anyone else and you have been around for x number of years and have x qualifications (neither of which you do not mention on your site). Everything else is just fluff.
I wish you luck with your business venture but see nothing in your post to make me think that I should choose your service above anyone more local.
Shaun.

The products been launched with the website basically half finished... Think that they may have been watching the EDS superbowl ad and taken it literally rtaher than tongue in cheek.
This is the one that I'm talking about (personally I prefer the cats one) :

My web site was up before it was finished, but at least I told everyone it was work in progress, and I wasn't ready to start work! I still don't think it's finished, but at least it looks like it is!
That advert was a bit like what happened when each new USS Enterprise was launched, but at least they went off early because of an urgent mission!
Think that they're up to the NCC 1701e at the moment aren't they... Maybe if they finished building them first they would last longer. lol.
I think that with many of the people here, myself included websites are living evolving things rather than finished products.
The difference is though that this poster is not attempting to put themselves over as a small bookkeeping practice. They are attempting to convey size and standing which their site fails to do.

Websites are definitely to be thought of as living and evolving, Shaun. In that way they are different to the majority of other media. Because of that nature though, it means if there is a page (like the FAQ on the OP's page) that isn't 100% you can still work on it while removing it from the navigation, or work on a new site while the old one is still there. This is something I often do.
There really is no excuse to have a site that appears half done, when you can just show the portion that is complete. This wouldn't be quite as bad if they were not offering web development as a service. It also strikes me that they seem to specialise is so much. Can one specialise in all these things?
They claim to do SEO too. So I took 3 of their services and checked google. Theses are the services MCBS specialise in I searched "Toronto Bookkeeping", "Toronto Taxation", and "Toronto Web Design" and nothing within the first 10 pages appeared.
Just as an aside Shaun, I see you have a new design. I was most interested to see you have adopted some form of value pricing. Maybe Bob made an impact on you? ;)
Yep, I think that there's evidence there that even grumpy old gits like me can evolve (recently I've even noticed that my knuckles no longer drag on the ground as I'm walking!).
I actually got fed up of people quoting my own website back at me when their situation didn't fit the pricing on offer.
My actual pricing is still based on time but then, Ron Baker himself concurrs that time has to be the basis on which we sell ourselves with opportunity costing being used as the example in that scenario where you only have x number of hours available so what is the most profitable use of that time.
I think that the real issue with value pricing was that Bob didn't explain it very well (despite us both repeatedly asking him to expand in plain English upon his management consultant speak), he didn't listen to others and he was on a bit of an evangelical value pricing mission which didn't mix too well with the previous two points.
Also of course the approach of telling bookkeepers that we're all doomed didn't help his arguement.
The main thing is that I do not confuse value with the clients turnover as I'm a firm believer that its not how much I can move from the clients pocket to my own but rather the financial benefit that I can bring to their business.
I don't think thats how Bob was seeing it and read his approach as there being direct correlation between the clients top line and the price charged.
I like my new site. Unlike the previous versions its not based on one of the supplied templates but rather it's just pics I've grabbed from Freedigitalphotos.net.
I appreciate that it's not comparative to a professional site like yours but it feels a lot cleaner than it did previously and I'm quite happy with it for the moment.
Hope that you're having a good day in sunny Scotland. After the deluge yesterday we've finally got a bit of sun ourselves today,
all the best,
Shaun.

Aaaarrrgggghhhh! I've just discovered that my web site can be found on Google through the other domain names I have on my hosting, but not the .co.uk one it's supposed to be on! Yellow Pages and ads in the local paper were so much simpler!
