Quickbooks help, please
Permalink Closed

I work with an Australian company (based here now) who are still using their Australian version QuickBooks. We have agreed to change to UK QuickBooks from the start of their financial year, July!, but I just have a couple of questions which I can't find answered on the QuickBooks website, and I was hoping someone here may be able to help biggrin

Firstly, does QB Pro 2014 run job/project costings? Or is Premier needed for that?

Secondly - we would need 5 users. I can see that we could buy direct from QB for a (quite hefty) monthly fee, but would it work the same if we bought 5 copies from Amazon?

Thanks very much for any help anyone can give smile

I would call Intuit and ask about the job costings.

When you say 5 users, do you mean 5 people that can access it at the same time? Do you mean their Enterprise version? I think I had an email a week or so back saying they were going to discontinue it.

Call them, they will be able to answer both your questions.

  Hey Helz,

QB Pro does not support job/project costing completely so it would be recommended to go for the Premier version of QB instead.

You would need to buy a 5 user single license in order to allow all your users to work on the same QB file at the same time, however if you would like to install the QB on 5 different computers then you can definitely purchase 5 different copies of single user license from Amazon and install it on your 5 computers.

Hi Kundan, (and sorry to hijack this thread Helz),

When you say QB Pro 2014 doesn't support job/project costing completely, what do you mean exactly?  I am about to start using Jobs for a Project Management firm I have as a client.  What are the restrictions?

Many thanks.

If you use the Online Version of Quickbooks, Accountants and Bookkeepers can get the Plus product for 4.99 per month £60 p/y and you get unlimited users, we also were able to migrate for free with some new clients who were using Prem and pro,

If you need to do job costing, I have posted a reply in another thread here, if you need something specific for a client I recommend you check out their apps, they have a few which are helpful.
