I started submitting FPS for a new client - they've only just started up. Did another FPS on Tuesday (with more new employees) - by the Wednesday they had sent out a new tax code for one of the employees (one with two jobs) and sent out a national insurance number today (Thursday) for one employee that had missed it out. Actually, they hadn't missed it out on their starter checklist - the one they put in was all numbers.
Definitely getting a lot quicker in that area.

I've only really responded because only yesterday I spotted two of the foremost commentators stating that Real Time is inappropriate for the smallest employers. Their thoughts are from 16 February of this accounting Web thread:-
It's nice to see I'm not the only stuck record. There was always time given to business for disruptive changes. Do you remember how many years it took them to bring the P35 filing date from 19th July to 19th May? I'm guessing now but I bet it was 5.
I'm glad the tax codes are arriving promptly but (yeah you saw the 'but' coming) shouldn't it always have arrived that quickly with the simple innovation of online P46/P45s?
