Is it possible to obtain income tax relief on travel for a sole trader with a van registered to the business with only fuel invoices (no mileage records)
As a sole trader, you could consider putting all the actual van costs through the sole trader accounts, and decide whether there should be any private usage dis-allowance. Generally, if the trader also has a car for evening and weekend, private van use would be negligible, and so 100% costs could go through, as well as capital allowances.
