(a) I'm horrified that anyone who thinks of themselves as a parent would do that to their daughter.
(b) I'm equally as horrified that a child of that age has been exposed to the choice language that they end the video with.
I assume that the video is another of those from the lowest common denominator of society looking for £250 from You've been framed. of course the language at the end has spoilt that for them.
Didn't find it funny at all, just a very sad statement about the mindset of those who made the video and seem to think it ok for their child to have that vocabulary... Indeed, they must be proud of it as they have published it on the web.

I agree the language is awful but I still found it funny, if it was my daughter I certainly wouldn't have posted it on a social media site but it appealed to my sense of humour, kids of that age are like sponges and who is to say that she never learnt those words while eating at Macdonalds or while out with her Mum? Maybe her parents found it so funny as it wasn't expected? Im not here to judge but found the unexpected to be hilarious. Takes all sorts to make a world.
Also not here to judge but I'm about to anyway.... these parents could do with going to parenting class, what hope has the poor thing got when she is being brought up like that....
But you are judging Rob, I have seen 100's of videos of kids doing the ICB Bucket Challenge which I personally think is wrong but still think its funny, am I wrong for thinking its funny? I make no apology for my sense of humour and I don't take myself that seriously that I will make a judgment or take the moral high ground of the parenting skills of someone I know nothing about. When I was a kid I would never swear in front of my parents nor they would swear in front of me but as soon as I was outside with my mates every other word was a swear word, of course Im not like that now but people who heard me in the street were they so quick to make judgement on my parents as well? Because if they were they got it SO WRONG. Ok in this case the child can be no more than 3 years of age and I accept to throw a bucket of ice water over a childs head is a bit naughty but for me to watch was and is funny.
Dave, I know I'm judging, I said I was going to anyway in my post (my rubbish sense of humour). You don't have to defend yourself mate, no one is criticising you for bringing this to our attention and often the stuff I laugh at I do so guiltily. You have a great sense of humour and keep us all smiling. However, for me this video just makes me a bit sad....however on a bright note I have Kate Bush tickets!!
Lol Rob Kate Bush oh did I have a crush on her when I was a kid? To be fair I did have mixed feelings about posting the video and the reaction on you tube was mixed but I have never been one to be swayed by other peoples opinions, I have my own and can live with the way I am and the way I think, the adage never judge another man/woman unless you have walked in their shoes for me is spot on.
So how is Kate looking nowadays? More importantly can she still sing?

As with Rob, my issue was not with you or anything to do with posting the link. And I agree that some silly internet challenges are really funny.
My objection was purely in sheer horror at the way that some children in the UK are brought up.
I really think that we should have TV ads running in other countries with a Bob Geldoff voice over showing the language adopted by some minors and saying for just £5 a month we could arrange for the parents of these children to be taken out back and beaten with baseball bats.... Actually, considering the way that sir Bob adopts the just give us you f*****g money approach he's probably not the best person for this job.
As with Matt, I'm now 53 and I still wouldn't use language like that in front of my parents. Also, if Peter had ever come out with anything similar I would have crawled up in embarresment rather than proudly publishing it on the web.
As I say though, the threads completely redeemed by the ICB / ICE mistake.
Have a good day Dave and talk soon,
Shaun.

Kate will always be beautiful to me Dave and judging from the reviews her voice is still good, less shrill maybe. I was at her very last concert as an awe struck 15 year old and I have tickets for the last night this time round too and will be taking my 17 year old daughter.

I wouldn't mind Shaun but until Tim pointed it out I never even realised, I wonder if James had noticed what I had done, probably have the ICB giving my grief now for associating the video with them lol, some people should steer clear from forums lol

ICBucket...good spot Tim!
Yes Rob she was certainly hot back in the day, wuthering heights Babooshka they say a good artiste stands the test of time so its good she can still sell concert tickets, you know the drill plenty of pics please Rob I want to know what she looks like now, I suppose I could google her.

I remember many years ago when my niece was 3 and we were listening to some music on tape. At the end of the tape it clicked off and she remarked "f***ing hell, the musics stopped" We all fell about laughing but she did get a scolding off my sister and her husband.
The girl in the video has obviously picked up bad language, we don't know if (like my niece) it's a one off and she was chastised or whether it's part of her everyday language. If the latter then it's simply a sad reflection on the culture she's surrounded by.
We were careful not to swear around my son when he was growing up and things were fine until he was about 12. I walked in from work one day to be met by this barrage of foul mouthed abuse from upstairs which was my son playing a fifa game and remonstrating with the players. I shouting out "oi" and theres was a "ooops..sorry Dad" so no matter how well we as parents try to shield them they will have outside influences.

Aaaah the georgeous Kate Bush. My dad thought she was a wailing cat screecher but I thought she was ace. She became a recluse for a number of years so it's nice to see her back in the public eye.

Exactly John, like I said before unless we have walked in another persons shoes then who are we to judge, but alas we still do
There is nothing wrong with judging but of course we need all the facts. I didn't personally make a comment about the language just the basic parenting. I really find that pouring a load of cold water over a young child when she is happily chattering away a form of abuse. I remember going out for a meal with my best friend and they had a daughter a similar age to my own. I guess the girls were about 5, and my friends said 'watch this' and they gave their child the mum's drink. She was expecting something like lemonade but got a vodka and tonic and screwed her face up in disgust whilst the parents laughed. I told them that I thought it was outrageous and not to do it again. My mate is one of the most intelligent people I know but I found that one of the most stupid things a person could do.
But the evidence we have I think was well put by Shaun and if they are going to put it on public record then we have every right to judge them, it is irrefutable that they are the kind of people who a) find great delight in shocking their very young daughter and b) Think nothing of sharing their daughter's reaction (including the bad language) with the world and therefore condone its use. We do not have to 'walk in someone's shoes' to form a personal opinion otherwise we will just accept what everyone does.

Watch it again Rob, she was doing the ice bucket challenge. She nominated various people then indicated she was ready to have the water poured over her. What she wasn't expecting was how cold it was going to be, hence the response.
They probably should have ensured the water wasn't ICE cold though, given her age.
OK I get your point but imagine this scenario, The Ice Bucket Challenge is for charity and judging by the video's I have seen lots of parents are allowing their children to take part, based on the name of the challenge we assume that the water which was used was and is ICE COLD but there was no proof in the video that the water was ICE COLD, we can assume from the little girls reaction it was but for all I know it could have just been tap water from the cold tap which would still be a shock, and as such I don't base my opinions based on assumption but just COLD hard facts and as I don't have the COLD hard facts I choose not to judge as I have not walked in these parents shoes.
I have a friend at work who has a 3 year old daughter who went to Macdonalds with her Aunt, there was a bunch of teenagers using the F word in every other word, the aunt went over and asked them to watch their language as there was a little girl present, which they did, a few days later my friends daughter as she was going out said Fxxking Hell its raining again, so do I judge the parent because I heard it and so they are rubbish parents or condemn the people who she heard swearing in the first place? Although I understand what you are saying we still don't have all the facts.
The whole point of the ICE bucket challenge is to video it, so again who is to say that it was the parents who posted it? Could it not have been an aunty who was sent the video who then sent it to a friend who then sent it to another friend, it could have reached 100 people before it got posted. So again unless I know all the facts I choose to reserve my judgement.
Dave

Actually, no, that is not all. Given some of the thread drift, I would just like to add:
Kate Bush.
Phwoaarrr!
However, Dave's request for plenty of pictures? Please consider respecting Kate's wishes - if you're going to see and hear her perform live, watch her live rather than through the few inches of screen on your phone or camera (which, when people near the front are holding their stuff in the air to record from a better angle, also serves to obscure the view for people behind).

You should see the video of a guy dressed up as a little girl mimicking the little girl in the video, that is even funnier!
I must admit although I did laugh I wouldn't have posted it on the net for all to hear/see, I would be horrified if my kids used that type of language!
THe best one I think is a little boy who holds up cards saying this is my ice bucket challenge, his dad is standing behind him with a large bucket in the kitchen, and on the cards that he is holding up it is saying 'I can't do this because I have a hole in the heart, I am waiting for a new one, so instead of donating please become a donor and help other people, then his dad tipped what we thought would be water, but instead it was small foam balls over him. I thought that was the best one.
