Hi all,

I need to ask HMRC for new tax code for director of a LTD. How can I do it?I am using 12pay software. I filed nil EPS last month and this month I have to change the Tax code.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi there,

Do you mean the director's circumstances warrant a change of tax code or that you have had notification from HMRC regarding a change of tax code and you need to know how to do it in 12 Pay?

It's usually up to HMRC to let the employer know of a change of tax code, not the other way round....i.e. you don't "ask" HMRC for a tax code.

Agree with Pauline. If you wish to change the code in 12Pay, following receipt of a new code from HMRC, then go into employee records and change in there.

You cannot just change the tax code, you have to have notification from HMRC that there is a change of tax code, they issue them via email if you are the acting agent for the client.

Thank you everyone! I have applied for new tax code on-line. Hopefully it will arrive in 15 days.
