how to invoice for sale of asset in QB
Permalink Closed

Morning,

I have a client who is selling a truck the business owns and wants to know how to invoice for it.  They use Quickbooks.  it is not in the fixed asset item list so we can't create an invoice from there.  They are selling it for what they bought it for in March so no depreciation needs to be accounted for.

Any suggestions on how to create the invoice without affecting sales figures?

thanks

When it was purchased there must have been a debit (asset) entry in the accounts? You would need to create an invoice to wherever this value is to clear some of it. The rest will be loss of disposal.

Are you able to post it to a spare sales code, on its own, and rename that code "sale of assets"
