Cheers Les!! Not without its usual ambiguity, Les!
Am I making supplies in the current quarter? I click on the question mark and get....
Supplies in the current quarter Calendar quarter means a period of 3 consecutive calendar months, ending with the last day of March, June, September or December. Choose 'Yes' if you are, or will be, making supplies of broadcasting, telecommunications or e-services in the current calendar quarter. Your VAT Mini One Stop Shop (MOSS) registration date will be the date you start making supplies as long as the date you're registering is no more than 10 days after the end of the month. For example, if you start making supplies on 01/01/2015, your registration will also start on that date as long as you register by 10/02/2015.
If the date you're registering is more than 10 days after the end of the month, your VAT MOSS registration date will be the first day of the next calendar quarter. For example, if you start making supplies on 01/01/2015 but you don't register until 12/02/2015, your VAT MOSS registration date will be 01/04/2015.
Choose 'No' if you aren't making supplies in the current calendar quarter. Your VAT MOSS registration date will be the first day of the next calendar quarter.
I AM making supplies in THIS calendar quarter.. So I tick yes And it asks for date at which I started making the supplies - bizarre, I think. It doesn't want to know I started 5 years ago.. so I put 01.01.15
ERRORRRRRRRR
So the only answer can be NO!
I guess that question is for when people register after 01.01.15, eh?!
Just thought I would lay this out, in case anyone else is thrown off guard!
They haven't got the rules sorted out yet, so things could change over the next few weeks! People on the rather busy Facebook group have been campaigning hard, and it's paying off in a limited way. A lot of very tiny businesses aren't at all happy. www.facebook.com/groups/DigitalVAT2015
