Hi again

.. and merry christmas to you, if you celebrate it!

Back to subject, have people gained business / leads/ work from beig a full BKN member?
I am aware of the site membership benefits that you may get reduced price offers on a lot of things, including PII.
I just wondered what people think and experienced.

Personally, I appreciate the chance to "network" (this word sounds stupid) with others, which in the end might result in some work in the future.

Thank you folks for your comments.

Hi Richard

Ive just joined the network recently so not had the chance to gauge it yet and probably not helped by the fact I havent got a website (and my local competition has!), although my other contacts are on there.

That said it was definitely worth joining to get the reduction in the PII cover - very happy with that one so I say go for it.

Hi all I'm new to this forum although I joined it earlier.I think it's good to share your knowledge and ask questions to clarify the things. But I don't think so we can manage to get leads from here. Rubina Anjum www.pyramidpointlimited.co.uk

I think the answer to this is different between use of the forum and being a full member of BKN.

Being a full member - I havent yet, but as I said I havent got a website and the other 'competition' in my area does have so people might logically start there and so I could be losing out. As I dont know her and she doesnt appear to use the forum side then who knows.

From the forum perspective there are people who have clearly gained business from being on here. I think, from seeing a post you have just put on here, you might be in with a windfall of clients. My view is - dont be on here expecting it, if you get any then its a bonus. The bulk of us on here to gain and/or give advice and have a bit of fun along the way, given us most of us are one man bands talking to four walls for most of our days!

What's the difference between a full member and a regular member?  I joined as a regular member last August.

Hi again John
BKN is a Network and a Forum
You can come on here as a free member and use the forum. Or you can pay £24 a year and become an official member which then gives you access to other resources including having a listing that enables customers to find your business, but the main advantage as I personally saw it was that I could get cheaper PI cover than any of the other quotes I had received even if I included the £24 ee on top!! See this part of the forum www.book-keepers.net/join-us

You fabulously funny, lovely northern lasses are confusing me biggrinbiggrin

In an earlier post in this thread you said you had just joined the network and I assumed you meant the bkn site rather than the forum.  I can see you're on the main site in the find a bookkeeper but then you said you weren't a full member which is when i got confused (VERY easily done lol)

Hi Joanne  you are right,we are here to share our experiences and ask for advice when required.Btw is there any specific reason of not having a website. I think you can do it by yourself.

Hi Rubina
Sorry been away from BKN for couple of days as bombed with work. I've set up and managed my own website in the past so know how easy it is, with a bit of time, but time is what I've not had, besides I've already got more than enough clients so don't feel the need for one. That's the only reason.
