Settings in Adobe for CT600
Permalink Closed

Hi,

I am trying to submit my CT600 but I only get as far as the page that says Type of company.  I select the required option and then go to bottom of page and select next.

It comes up with an error message saying:

X-Error,  The services is trying to autosave your progress but is unable to do so because the trust settings are not enabled.

How do i fix this?  I have followed the  instructions as per HMRC but it still won't work.

Hi Elaine

The trust settings are a pig to set up, fortunately once it's done you don't need to do it again.  Those HMRC instructions, although correct, are not very clear.  I remember it taking at least two attempts to do it.  Have another go but if you're still having trouble i'm happy to help you set it up either tomorrow or Monday.

Hi John,

Its already my second attempt at doing it. Do you think I should unintall adobe and start again as the part that I cannot select is "Add to trusted Certificates". Its saying they are already trusted and the box is greyed out.

When opening the CT600 do you have a blue bar at the top that has a blue rosette with the words "Cerified by HMRC CT CERT AUTH etc etc etc"  If so then it should work.  If not, then it's gone wrong somewhere and uninstalling Adobe and starting again is probably the best option

Arrgggh, Done that and still won't go past that point.

I do have the bar at the top and the little rosette is blue to say it's been certified. Probably something really simple that needs tweeking but I have no idea what.

It's a couple of years since I last did it but it seems a glitch with Adobe rather than HMRC, as there's a corruption there somewhere.

Just a suggestion and I have no idea whether it will work.

Delete the CT600 you have, reboot the PC (1) then start again with a new CT600.  If that doesn't work do you know how to go back to an earlier date on your PC?  You could roll it back a day or so then you can go through the trust settings again.

(1) I find rebooting the PC sometimes fixes glitches
