About Our Client

This firm is a recognized leader in the insurance market with an expanding portfolio and an entrepreneurial approach to an ever changing market. With the finance team at the heart of this Guernsey head office, the firm is seeking a skilled Financial Controller with experience in a high growth insurance business who is prepared to be involved in a range of responsibilities.

Job Description

The successful Financial Controller will be prepared to be involved in a range of responsibilities including both financial and regulatory reporting and making the current procedures and controls more efficient. Other areas of responsibilities will include preparing management information on monthly and quarterly reporting, to both the Board and Head Office.
Personality will be key to the success of the individual with the desire to join a vibrant business. The FC will be integral to the successful reporting on trends and forecasts, through data analysis. This individual will be autonomous and will provide support and leadership, ensuring that the finance function runs effectively and efficiently. As part of wider finance initiatives, the successful candidate will undertake project work as well as managing preparation and submission of local and group tax reports.

The Successful Applicant

The Financial Controller will be required to have a proven track record of success in a finance leadership position. Technical knowledge around insurance will be essential and the ideal candidate will have unit linked products knowledge.
The successful applicant will be keen to relocate to Guernsey in the Channel Islands to explore a unique opportunity at a proactive and industry leading insurance firm. The island has a good work/life balance with short commutes offering plenty of time for adventures outside of working hours. The company promotes a hard working, bright and motivated environment where notable work is rewarded.The successful Financial Controller will possess:
        Accountancy Qualification (with understanding of local, professional, Group and EU accounting standards and legislation)
        5+ years of professional experience, with a proven track record in leadership positions
        Knowledge of the insurance industry would offer a huge advantage
        The role holder will have the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
        The role holder will display a strong attention to detail and be able to work independently and autonomously
