Has anyone heard about this yet?  Just wondering if anyone here is planning to go?

Here is the website if anyone is looking for a bit more information www.bookkeepers-conference.co.uk

I've been asked by Mike to speak at it.  I'm a bit nervous so would love to be surrounded by friendly faces (even you Shaun!)

Kris

saw the words "early bird discount" and thought, I know that line!

Can I assume from this that Mike has actually left the ICB to set up on the Nigel Botterill route of evangellical business speaking (interesting that he started from the same roots as Nigel with Barclays).

Don't misconstru that above line, I like Nigel's approach even though quite a bit of his provisional wing marketing ideas are at odd's with accounting ethics (i.e. professional bodies require marketing to be to inform, not impress)

I'm impressed with the quality of the startup information that Mike has on that link and if he has left the ICB then someone there must be kicking themselves as his ideas and guidance seem to be the right stuff which may actually be useful to people after qualifying (After having a quick glance I'm thinking that I may read through it all when I get chance).

I wish him the very best with his business and you the very best with your speech, going just on the quality of the advice in the free stuff on his site I certainly don't think that the price of the ticket will be a waste of anyone's money (or time) also you should get a good crowd there Kris. Wonder if Rob will be there?

Whilst I've not written it off and I will try to attend, I can't promise that I'll be there this time as the timing doesn't fall great for me (rather than there being any ideological reason not to attend this one).

All the best Kris,

kindest regards,

Shaun.

Hi Kris
It's the day after my birthday so there is no way I'm going to be up early enough to attend 😄 sorry. Good luck with your speech, I'm sure it will be great.

Hi,

Thanks for posting Kris. Be nice to meet you at last. And you too Lainy

Joanne/Shaun, if you're unable to make this one we'd still really appreciate your support by sharing the details of this event with colleagues and anyone else who knows other bookkeepers.

Angie

Thanks Kris for posting and for agreeing to speak at the conference. Be good to finally meet up.

Thank you Shaun for your comments. My businesses have always been around support the success of other business owner, it is my passion. It is pleasing that someone with your experience has found my content to be of interest. I also appreciate the best wishes you gave.

The concept of the conference is to bring to profession together, for all bookkeepers from across the UK and not membership body specific.
We have also listened to what bookkeepers would like in the content and we are therefore running technical breakout sessions, where each attendee will have a choice of 4 30 minute sessions on topics relevant to their role in the profession.
We have a few keynote speakers, like Kris and not me this time! plus a small number of exhibitors.

We hope this conference, centrally located in Birmingham, will be of interest to the many bookkeepers.
For more details, please see www.thebookkeepersconference.co.uk

Mike,

I am interested in coming along to this and possibly exhibiting for the Mentoring business that I run - I note on the site it says there are slots for exhibition. Do you have price details etc.

Thanks

Phil
