P11D dispensation - reimbursing for mobile
Permalink Closed

Morning,

I have a client with a dispensation (ltd co) but like many new companies she couldn't get the phone contract in the company's name so had to take it out herself and she reimburses herself from the company.  As she has a dispensation does it need to go on a P11D or is covered in the P11D?  Have read the HMRC guidance but not 100% clear

Thanks

Alison

What does the dispensation cover, does it include the reimbursement of mobile phone costs?

As far as I am aware it covers phones, but on the dispensation form it states "you must exclude any line rental, mobile phone contract or equipment costs" so as she reimburses the whole charge I assumed it should go on the P11D

That's right, if she just reimburses herself for the business calls then there is no need to declare anything as it is covered by the dispensation.

If she reimburses the whole phone bill, then the personal calls and line rental need to go on the P11D.
