Moneysoft and microsoft exchange email
Permalink Closed

Does anyone know how to get this work?  My email is run through Microsoft exchange into outlook but I cannot figure out how to get this to work with Moneysoft so I can send emails directly from the software.

Moneysoft couldn't help - anyone here shed any light?

thanks

Hi Alison

Looking at moneysoft, emails can only be sent through smtp, which is the standard way of sending them.

I'm not familiar enough with exchange as to whether you can obtain these details or not.

What you won't be able to do is to link microsoft exhange with moneysoft.

Anyway I need to set my emails to go directly from moneysoft, at the moment I am saving a pdf copy to my computer then sending an email from there with the pdf attachment, so thanks for highlighting it.

thats what I was suspecting, I am doing the same as you at the moment which is fine with a few clients but it does take time. I may set up a specific gmail for sending payslips using which a Do Not reply to this email message on it. Would save me a load of time each month

Hi
I dont know about exchange but I thought it did use the smtp thing (technical I aint!), and as you can set up a user defined email in Moneysoft, if you have the correct port info (from a search on google) then I wouldve thought this do-able.

Both - I always save the outputs from Moneysoft but it was easy to set up an email (if you need to use gmail) - try one to your own business email first. I did that for ages - it auto emailed myself and then I just forwarded it to the client from there.....at least that saved the process of finding then 'adding a document' to an new email, so saves a bit of time.

Hi Jo

I've had a dabble this morning, and I don't like it.  I file my pdfs under a different file name for ease of identification and access eg Leger employee payslip 150417.pdf and for one particular client send payslips, sage nominal report (so the client can do the sage journal) CIS payslip and each month a paye summary.  That would be 4 separate emails (3 from payroll software)

Also I like to send my emails out as eg Hi Sarah (I don't actually have a client called Sarah so that confuses them tremendously biggrin) whereas this would say Hi <company name> so i'm sticking with the old way, even if it takes a tad longer.

Fair enough, I always just personalised the email....you can in Moneysoft too....see the help files, but I get what you say about sending multiple files (not sure if that's do-able or not)
