Accountex - Anyone going?
Permalink Closed

Is anyone going to Accountex at London Xcel on Wednesday and Thursday this week?

I am flying down to Stansted tomorrow night to go to Accountex over Wednesday and Thursday then back up on Thursday night.

I really wanted to go to this but find myself too busy! :(

Will definitely make time for this next year.

Hi Mark

Is it open to Bookkeepers as well or is it primarily aimed at accountants?  Wouldn't have been able to go this year anyway but it certainly looked interesting from the email stuff I received.  If it is an accountants thing it will be on my list if/after I qualify.

Mainly aimed at accountants though bookkeepers would get something out of it as well.

I think they want to promote how useful bookkeepers are to Accountants .....

Also ... old joke ...... Why do the Accountants invite the bookkeeper to the Xmas party ? so that they have got someone interesting to talk to ..... biggrin

Was I wrong in thinking the first line was a joke?

(Before all bookkeepers on here jump on me - I am a bookkeeper!)

That me on the train back to London Stansted back up to Edinburgh after 2 full on days at Accountex.

Loads of useful information picked up.  Best seminar was Steve Piper's 57 free/useful software tools.  Thankfully there is a few of them that I already use but will be looking at the rest over the next few weeks.

Signed up with CIPP so I can now call myself a payroll affliate of CIPP.  Just need to do the course now to know what I am talking about from a payroll viewpoint.

Also signed up with Document Management system Docusoft as want to gradually move to paperless office.

Also stocked up on my pen stationery for the next year.

Now need to catch up on the 200 or so emails that have built up since been out of the since Tuesday.

I think the first line was in answer to there being an ICB stand, but written tongue in cheek.

"Why do the Accountants invite the bookkeeper to the Xmas party ?"

So that they can ask for his advice at the party on how to do something in Sage, without making it an official, billable request.

Oh, wait? Were you asking that as a joke and not for actual experience? wink
