What's in a number?

been looking at getting a local number, but not sure on what to go for....

they start at £29 for a general number

£149 for a reasonable good number

£299 for a highly memorable number

all plus VAT

whats people's thoughts I don't really want to pay £299 for a number

This is a number that I can forward to another landline or mobile.

Mine under a tenner including VAT a month for a very memorable number from Vonage.

Why not just take a browse at a service like Vonage where you can browse the numbers available before deciding what to buy.

yep, they've probably changed the design of the box since I got mine as my settup is phone socket to router then router to vonage box (and several PC's). But as you say, very simple settup and then wallah, number of your choice and full control via an online access screen.
