just a quick question,

i listed myself with a free advert today in yellow pages and yell.com they didn't waste anytime in phoning me to get me to have a paid advert.

Just wondering if anyone else has done this and did you have much success?

DO NOT TOUCH YELL.COM WITH A BARGEPOLE

Just my opinion, but having spent over £400 in 2013/14 and returning absolutely diddly squat I just consider it a total waste of time.

Unless you're up for water coolers, gas and electric, telephone service and the like every 5 minutes in which case it's a cracking idea smile

Hahahaha

I thought they may be full of C**p they didn't waste any time in ringing me and the offer seems good but £263 for the ear but can they really push clients my way???

I'm not so sure they can if it was that easy everyone would be doing it!

£263 for the ear? What do they charge for a nose?

I didn't realise yell.com were even still around. Next time they ring, point them in the direction of the 1990s.

It's the arm and the leg they're interested in lol

Mainly internet based now, but I think online directories have had their day.  Most people use social media nowadays I think.  I'm on my local buy sell and swap group on facebook and you regularly see posts saying where can I get this done or buy that from etc.

Whatever you do DON'T LET THEM BUILD YOU A WEBSITE!!! their services are a joke!! the website's they design are dreadful!! BUT the free adverts with Yell are great - you can still get loads of info on there for free and I have had a lot of clients find me from the FREE Yell advert.

They are not touching my website, I do my own and can't wait until I get my license so I can publish it.

It's been ready for ages now but just waiting on the final few things now.

Well, quite. Hence the suggestion to point them in the direction of the 1990s! :)

Total waste of money, your best way of advertising is networking with accountants.
