Ing at their office. I've found QB pro for 99 pound then the accountant version jumps up to 400 odd. I'm assuming the pro version would do the job but why is the accountant version so much more?
don't even know why they call it an accountant edition as there's no IXBRL tagging in it.
At the roadshow where I got it as a freebie I was told that I would also need something like VT Accounts for tagging and filing purposes.
The accountant version I believe has more built in backwards compatibility for clients using different versions of QB (but not the online version), however, if its just for multiple clients of your own rather than them using different desktop versions of QB and needing to interface versions then most people here just use the Pro version.
Hope that helps, sure that someone will be along in a minute with a list of other advantages to it.
All the best,
Shaun.

The Accountant version has a few extras such as being able to have two different files open at the same time which can be useful. It also enables you to do a few bits that Pro can't do such as moving a load of transactions from one account to another in one go. It also has some reporting functions which they say would do accounts but it doesn't. I have the Premier version this year which I hoped would do those things as well but I can only open one file at a time. The Pro one never used to do currencies or flat rate VAT but I think nowadays it does so I can't see why you would need anything more than Pro.
