Once P60's have been processed and distributed and later employee leaves.  Can you still access details of P60 ie a copy?

Requested one for former employer and they said can't keep copies by law.

Hi Elaine.

I thought it was P45's that related to, which you can keep but you're not allowed to re-issue.  Failing that you can request an employment breakdown from HMRC for the relevant year, which will give you the pay and tax.

Hi John,

Any idea how long that would take? Am trying to submit self-assessment in plenty of time.

My fault as I misplaced my P60.

Elaine

2-3 weeks from memory.

Ring the income tax helpline on 0300 200 3300 and they will send a copy out.

But first I would email the payroll dept of your employer and ask for the pay details to 5 April 2015.  I can't see any reason why they shouldn't be able to do that.

I had a similar issue with a client who had worked part of the year, and not kept the details.  All it took was a letter of authority from my client and his employer gave me the details without any problem.
