HMRC told me on 11 November that they were posting some signed and stamped Withholding tax forms to my client. Ive had the client wading through his paperwork to locate it to no avail. Im booked on an urgent mission to drive all the way to his later tonight to catch him between trips to get him to sign new forms to start all over again.
Just rang HMRC on the off chance they kept copies for them to just sign them again and re-send. Well they dont keep copies(!!) but apparently it can take 15 working days from them saying the document will be posted until it actually is posted, so their advice is it will probably arrive in the post between now and Monday 7 December.
15days to pop a letter in the post - are HMRC a million miles from a postbox, or do you just reckon he found the papers still attached to my original request?!!!!
Never heard the like and just felt like sharing!

lol. Makes me laugh how we have to do loads with them on line but they use snailmail. Wouldnt mind but they got the letter then sat on it for 15 days before responding. The Germans on the other hand responded to my email in less than 24 hours....just wish we could deal with them all the time. I suppose if I moved there......ok issue with that - I cant speak the lingo, not too bad with the written word though.

Now there's a thought. We could privatise HMRC, then it's bound to fall in foreign state hands. After all it's happened with the railways, electric and gas, and water.
Between us we know the German and the Swedish Tax Offices are efficient and the other countries can't be any worse can they?
In the interests of fairness I have to say I haven't yet had a major issue with HMRC myself. I'm sure there's bound to come a day though.
