hallo guys

I only have osbourne books and I don't find them good. Has anyone of you ever used both osbourne and bpp books for learning aat? Are bpp books better?

Some of the Osbourne books are excellent such as Business Accounts by David Cox.

The BPP books in some cases are cut down versions of the ACCA study texts (and the lower level ACCA texts are cut down versions of the advanced text books).

Why are you writing off Kaplan?

There are some issues with errors in the Kaplan texts but in general I like the approach of learn, example, do it yourself, do it again with more complexity.

Also, you don't have to use just one publisher. Mix and match your studies. For some papers also buy older books from amazon resellers which can be picked up for pennies (never buy old tax books though).

When studying ACCA for many papers I would have both the BPP and Kapland texts. There is no reason that you could not work with Osbourne, BPP and Kaplan (invariably one of them (you can never tell which one) will make a difficult subject click where the others come accross as being written in Hebrew).

If I had to choose between Osborne and BPP I would go with BPP everytime.

Just to clarify, and a bit of a plug, First Intuition also sell a complete set of AAT texts as a stand alone product. So now there is a choice between Kaplan, BPP, Osborne and FI books.

There certainly are!!!!   When I looked I started to doubt myself and my abilities with one or two of them.  I suppose there could be an argument that they can be a good test BUT my only if you have picked up that knowledge elsewhere  - not great for my son who was starting out from having no experience whatsoever.

Thoughts are my own/not to be regarded as official advice, which should be sought from a suitably qualified Accountant.

You should check out answers with reference to the legal position

I used BPP. I tried Kaplan but found them harder to understand.
