Auto Enrolment Pension

Hi

Trying to get my head around pension contributions.

I have been told that tax relief is taken at source, and contributions are from net pay, but I cant seem to work how how sage payroll is calculating.

Minimum contributions are being deducted for employee and employer.

Should the figure just be 1% of net pay, then 20% tax releif also.

Staging date is not until 1st Feb, but just looking at how this is done.

Help!

I'm no expert in this area but it should be calculated on gross pay although it may be taken from net pay after tax and NI. The tax relief will then be collected through the pension provider. This is my only experience with NEST do others may be different.
