Exporting to the US

Hi,

Ok, I need some help with this. I have tried to speak someone at the Vat office but gave up waiting , so have printed off some information from the website but I have the following questions and would be grateful if somebody could help me.

1. I will be writing the Vat office at the end of clients next quarter to request that they join the standard rate vat scheme as presently they are on the flat rate.... At the start of the new quarter will they issue invoices under the standard rate - 20% or do they have to wait until its been confirmed from HMRC?

2 Second question.....Can you confirm if my client has to register for all of the following - They will be exporting electronic equipment

at the National Export System (NES)

Register for an Economic Operator Registration Identification

Register for the Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight

Sign up to make online CHIEF declarations

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you

Georgie

1) Is there a difference? Doesn't the FRS only affect what the client pays HMRC? Isn't the invoice essentially the same? 2) No idea on exports

Tut tut , what was thinking, of course the vat won't change on the invoice, just the way the vat is reported on vat return. Thank you for that Jonny. It's a bad habit of mine, I start to "WWILF" on the Internet and disappear up my backside!
