Happy Vaisakhi Parmi,

Will you be going to the massive celebration in Birmingham on Sunday the 24th? Apparently at least 100,000 people are expected there on that day.

It's been on Radio WM about it all day as this year is expected to be something really special.

all the best,

Shaun.

Thanks all

I can't make to Birmingham Shaun. It would be great but then again I'm not that into big crowds. A peaceful reflective celebration is what I'll be doing this weekend.

Bristol hasn't advertised any events, there was a parade last year but nothing that I've seen promoted.

Oy Vey!

My boy and myself are celebrating Sonkran at the moment (Thai new year, April 13th through 15th)... Basically just an excuse to run around the garden shooting each other with water pistols.

When in Thailand its a huge affair with everyone involved and running street battles with hundreds a side which escalate to water by the bucket load.

Sawat Dee Pee Mai (Happy new year)

... Aren't we a multi cultural lot on here :D

Oops, not trying to hijack the thread.

Your right Parmi, it does seem to be a general SE Asia party time at the moment.

So, whether one is celebrating

Vaisaki
Sonkran
Thingyan
Pohela Boishakh
Puthandu
Sankranti
or any other local variant of new year / harvest festival I hope that everyone going to this weekends celebrations all have a great time....

Eat lots and Partay.
