White Goods and VAT

Hello!

 

I am pretty sure that VAT cannot be reclaimed on white goods.  Does this apply to both new builds and conversion?

As far as I am aware that is correct. White goods are seen as fixtures or thereabouts - hence builders blocked. I could be entirely incorrect as things change

Any works in relation to dwellings prohibit the claiming of VAT on white goods. The full list is in HMRC Notice 708, chapter 13.
