Payroll and auto enrolment set up
Permalink Closed

Hi all,

In my previous posts I mentioned outsourcing any payroll work to a payroll provider as we do not intend to get involved in payroll work. Whilst searing for the right payroll provider, I have found that many are charging a high fee to set up auto enrollment for each employee. Circa  £300- £400 per employee. Does this sound about right?

Thanks

Hi Nadia

I was going to PM you but you dont seem to have set up that facility on your profile.  Did you email John? As I know his charges are lower than that and not per employee, but per employer.

Mine are per employer as are any of the Accountants I have seen quote.

I have set up AE with NEST for a few companies with no more than 4 employees. I charge £75 per company, there really isn't much to it.

I wasn't aware I had to set up a PM facility seperate to the account...?

Following on from my outsourcing payroll query, I found that Roll Pay (many of you also suggested this company) to be the cheapest at £2.50 per payslip. However, they charge approx £400 to set up someone for auto enrollment therefore was looking for a cheaper alternative or doing it yself if possible.

No - I have not had a chance to contact anyone here yet as i've have not been very well so not been on the site.

You dont need to Nadia, just enables private emails off the forum if you wished.   Some of us use it to talk offline in certain circumstances.

Hi Nadia

That's a ridiculous charge, and no-one in their right mind should be paying it.  Rollpay though  is per employer, I'm fairly sure.  As Joanne says, I charge considerably less than that for setting up ae, and you'll find my payroll fees competitive too.

If you would like to contact me either use the pm facility or click on my website below and either email or send me a message from the contact us page.

I used to use Rollpay given their payroll fees per payslip were quite cheap but then were going to charge £500 + VAT to set up a client for AE.  I ended up doing it myself and charging the client £500 + VAT but payroll and AE is something I dont really want to get involved in so changed payroll provider to someone locally.

Their payroll charges are a bit higher but only charge £150 + VAT for AE set up.

Is it really that complex to command a fee of £500?

Hi Nadia

It isn't, but I'm guessing that rollpay charge that kind of fee as it's not central to their operation, which is providing payroll at the cheapest possible price.

Some people will pay that because they don't want the hassle of doing it themselves and can't be bothered to shop around.  I think £150 is a reasonable price to pay and that is what I charge, per employer, not per employee smile
