I've looked on Google but can't find an answer to this. On one of my mail accounts I only have the inbox folder showing, the sent, draft and deleted folders are not showing. I've checked the account settings under folders and it's identical to the other mail accounts so I'm scratching my head a bit. Anyone (Vince?) have a possible solution?

Whilst waiting for Vince (who as you note is the defacto go to bod for this sort of thing) a couple of suggestions from myself :
is it IMAP where the others are POP3?
If it's gmail click on the Gmail folder and they are all under that (except deleted is called trash).
Just a couple of thiongs to look at whilst you wait for Vince.
all the best,
Shaun.

A couple of obvious reasons/solutions spring to mind - one might be a case of "Oh, I didn't think of that / know that was there" and the other a case of "D'oh! How did that happen?"
First, on the menu bar go to View -> Folders. (If you don't have the menu bar showing, right click on an empty part of the tab bar, or on the tool bar, and display it). You might have the folder view set as 'Unread' or something like that - in which case only folders with unread messages are displayed (and messages in sent folders are typically stored as read).
However, if that's the problem, I'd expect *all* such folders to be hidden, not just on one account - so I suspect that's not the issue.
Now for the "D'oh!" possibility - I've lost count of the number of times I've seen this, not just in Thunderbird, but in many programs. Might you have accidentally dragged the folders into another folder? It seems to be a particularly common problem when using laptop touch pads, especially with the daft default settings.)
If you've done this accidentally, and you have quite a few folders/mailboxes etc, you might not necessarily know which folder it's gone into, so it can involve a bit of hunting - but the little 'triangle' indicator in the folder pane tells you if there are any folders below the one indicated, and if you've opened them.
(Similar to that - and you might have already thought of/checked this: Double check the trash folder in case you've accidentally deleted them.)

Thanks Shaun and Vince for your suggestions, all IMAP btw Shaun.
I'd just finished checking the folders on the others as Vince suggested when I saw a little "more than" arrow next to the inbox, which is where the D'oh moment came in, because clicking that revealed the missing folders. I don't think I would have spotted that if Vince hadn't suggested checking the other folders, so many thanks Vince, much appreciated.
